started stripping the astra down last week cos i wanna get it totally imiculate before it goes on the road full time! being as not gonna get it insured till i have 4 years no claims though i may aswell
took grill and bumper off and taken the cracks out of them and just given then first coat of paint, few places not perfect and couple of runs, rub down latter and spray them again and will be sorted! looking as shiny as rest of the car tho and perfect colour match, betta then the bodyshop that did the rear arches!

as for the wheels now, they were all chipped and few kurbs marks so thought i wud have a go myself had tires taken off on tuesday, got some volvo gunmetal gray PEARL paint also on tuesday, in between work i rubbed them down yesterday and then primed them last night till bout 2 this morning, then rubbed down again and just put the base coat, never used basecoat and laquer before!! seems ok so far just depends how many runs i get in laquer!
just put the basecoat on now and waiting to dry, coming out pretty well i am happy, one wheel reacted to paint a little but its not to bad! try and have a go with laquer latter!!!!

will have more pics coming soon

Wheel refurbing is ace
Spent hours doing the wheels on my old car. They were a bit fucked when i had them, but wanted the colour changed, so decided to do them myself. Had to live with my standard three spokes for a few weeks but it was worth it in the end .
Local place wanted about £120 to do it, but cost me around £40 in the end including all the primer/paint/Chemical Metal filler/Lacquer and getting the tryes re-balanced .

Personally i love working on my own car, its so much more satisfying seeing the finished product that youve done, and is all your own hard work, rather than something youve payed someone else to do .
