We sold a Impreza WRX STi at work the other day, it was a stunning example of this model, it was traded in but came with well documented history and was lovingly owned by its previous owner who had spent a great deal of money at prodrive to produce 315Bhp with proof etc.
After the vehicle was valeted it sold within one day. the sale was agreed and the new owner was told he could pick up the car this week. He asked us if we could sort it sooner so he could have it for the weekend. So we shuffled the deal to get it out double quick. This meant taking the car to a local mot centre to get a certificate for 12months. The MOT centre road tested the vehicle for which they had no reason to do as they are equiped with a rolling road and proceeded to write the car off. Aparently this was the result of 40mph and on a straight road. To make matters worse the new owner was already at the dealership ready to collect the vehicle all signed up with cover note in his hand only to be told what had happened. He had tears in his eyes.
