when i have loads of pics that i want to make smaller so i can upload them is there a quick way of doing them all at the same time?

either use the automate feature (which uses actions, already has one to do a resize to 45%), or create an action to resize, and either get the action to save the file, or load the action into the automate bit and use that

Just google up on it mate

yeah like dom says, I think photoshop can create batch scripts for such jobs.
