1) Fill up the tank completely.
2) Reset trip counter.
3) Drive until near empty.
4) Fill up the tank completely.
5) Note down trip reading.
6) Note down how much litres of fuel bought.
7) Subtract this amount, step 6), from 46litres (or fuel tank capacity) to get how much fuel consumed.
8) Divide this value, step 7), by 4.54 to get the (UK) gallon equivalent.
9) Divide the number of miles noted in step 5) by the value calculated in step 7) to get your MPG value.
8) Post your MPG value with your engine model and type of driving.
9) Sit back, relax and compare your MPG with other fellow drivers.
10) If you don't understand any of the steps listed above or how to come about the said value's, please go back to sleep and try again tmrw.

Surely the amount of fuel you consumed is the amount of fuel you have to put back in at step 4, and step 7 is not necessary.

Same here
I reckon my car is that shit that the MPG would be affected when the tank is full.

Thing is, if i fill the car full of Petrol -- i will find myself when bored just going for long random drives -- i.e. when doing course-work. Plus, i don't wanna part with £40.
