I need to know this also! mine's stopped beeping ever since it went off one time. It used to beep when a car went past and when i locked it, but it doesn't anymore...

is it in valet mode? (LED constantly on)

the led beeps alot when i first get in. does it for about 5 minutes, then goes off. I don't think its in valet mode as the position switch is not in that position.

as soon as you start the car it knocks valet mode off anyhow
