but optimax is 6p more per litre than regular unleaded
today was 88.9p - 82.9p respectively
weekend it was 86.9p - 80.9p respectively

also its a 14.3 mile round trip form my house to nearest shell station that sells optimax

so im travelling a lot further and paying a substational amount more

still, worth it cos its a nice trip out and im daft enough to do it

i doubt optimax will add performance to my 1.2 16v (certainly haven't noticed anything yet)
but if it keeps the engine cleaner then

anyone any oher comments to make on optimax?
has anyone noticed any performance gains using it in their 1.2 16vs?

More likely to destroy your engine than clean it.

Look for a old thread on Migweb regarding cars that don't need to run on Optimax that were, and after a period of time they started detonating.

But I suppose it's a Shell garage so you could ring up their Head Office and ask for your pumps to be updated to Optimax

I use Optimax every 4 fill ups in the Beemer, but never bothered in the Corsa cos it made no difference at all. I wouldn't bother every fill up but it doesn't harm it every few. Cheers for the speed camera tip too mate, nearly caught me out today though! b4stards!

so far found something about the 'stuff' they add to make it 'optimax' starts to degrade after a while returning the petrol to unleaded
