my 1.2 8v just failed it M.O.T. and it's gonna cost in the region of £150 to get it through! Do you think i should get it through it's M.O.T. then get a 1.6 Sport! I've been toying with the idea of a 1.6 for a few months now but insurance was too much but i dont wanna continue to modify what i have if its going to cost £100s every year at M.O.T. time!

What to do?

Help?

Get it through MOT then sell it for a 1.6.
Get rid now as its going to cost a lot in the future especially when rust is appearing

What he said, unless its just an isolated bit of rust, then chances are once it starts going, you wont stop it. I know my mates spend hundreds over the last few years on getting his car welded up every year to pass the MOT .

Ahh you lot are chicken shit, bit of welding here and there never hurt anyone.

As long as its not a rusty barge with massive holes in the floor like most of the Novas on Novaload
