Anyone any experience of the NA VX220?

I was planning to buy a S2 Elise 135R for mainly track use (and occasional weekend blasts) but have seen a few very well priced VX220s.

I have been out in the Turbo and it was awesome but they're more than I want to spend. If I was spending that much I'd have an Elise 111R.

So what are the NA ones like? They seem to be very well priced and I could be tempted!

Cheers

Not my cup of tea. I had a go in a Westie with a C20XE lump and it was just too raw.

The Elise/VX is about all I can take!

Plus, I want it to be more practical than a Westie. I know the Elise/VX aren't perfect but they're a bit more useable!

The 2.2 engine is very nice, obviously not as powerful but its a nice drive. Power delivery soooo much smoother in my first Astra to this one.

I know, one or two around who might offer an opinion though

VX doesn't seem as special as the Elise. Few grand change could solve that problem though!

I would rather get something like a pug 205 MI16 on TB's purpose built for track - you wont come out crying if you smash it into a barrier either with that and IMO it will be alot more fun.....just an idea!!!

If its for track use I'd spend as little as possible. Spend the change on consumables.

I have heard people say its a bit flat and uninspiring. What are the power/torque figures etc?

Want something for the weekends too though. Take the roof off and go for a blast through the Lakes on a Sunday morning etc. Not the same in a 205!

True. Badge doesn't bother me. Engine does Would love a 111R but they hold their value too well

135R has an old K series engine but still seems to be highly regarded and goes like stink.

147bhp I think, like I say not as quick as the turbo but comparing the two Vauxhall engines the 2.2 is far smoother. No idea how it compares to the K series.
