I've got a HiFi connected to my PC for music production/mixing etc.
I bought some new Technics 200W 6 speakers for it yesterday...i've got a feelin that the HiFi isnt powerful enuf to power them.
What spec amp should i get? i was thinkin one that kicks out 200W per chanel...is this correct???

Try and find out the RMS figures for everything, as that will be a better thing to do by, when they state they are 200w they mean peak power, so they will mor than likeyly be around 80w RMS
If they are 200w RMS for example you want an amp that will power 200w per channel.

you should have saved your cash mate and bought some decent monitors (studio flatline speakers) - ive got some KRK RP8s (400 quid) and there amazing, my level of work has improved loads
however, in terms of hifi it doesnt really matter tbh mate. Wattage means Sweet FA - its all about sound etc. I mean, i know people that have 30w tube amps powering speakers that can handle ten times that, but it still sounds great.
tbh, technics arnt exactly expansion speakers (ie: there suppose to be used with there own stuff)...i would recommend popping down to richer sounds, picking up a cambridge audio amp (decent stuff, even if people say its richer sounds own gear) and a set of missions. It will sound alot better than bodging a dodgy argos setup

KRK's are quality monitors . I used HiFi speakers before and after getting a proper set of monitors my mixdowns improved dramatically. I have a Samson Servo 170 amp that puts out 85w per channel, basic amp but does the job and for under £100 can't complain.

I built my own speakers, ordered Vifa drivers, crossover components, wired them up and built the boxes myself. I'm still fine tuning them, its amazing how changing the brand of capacitor or coil changes the sound, they sound amazing, and are loud too
