isnt it what u have to pay if u buy a house over a certain value i cant quite remember but i think its like a 10% payment or summat

you have to pay a duty to the goverment when you move house, it is a % of the purchase price.

1% of the purchase price.

Used to be for all property bought over £60k, but thats now been raised to £120k.

If you buy a house <£120k, you don't pay any stamp duty.
If your house is £121k (or above), you have to shell out an extra £1210 (or more) to that hungry barsteward Brown.

and how many pies could he buy with that? let's do the math...

£1210 divided by the average cost of a Pukka Pie (£1.80) = 672 pies for him and his ugly wife.

More tax to waste on war putting speed bumps around the place.
