Ok was reading a friends copy of retro cars yesterday & noticed that someone (VW??) have remade the Mk1 Golf GTi body shell, have i read this wrong or have others seen or heard of this, as they were advertising a new MK1 Golf GTi for £6,500!!

Dont know about the VW I do know you can buy a brand new old style mini.

A comapny called english motoring heritage or simiular buy the press and see them off.

Maybe a simular scheme.

correct,

in south africa they still use Mk1 golfs,

my mate from work went out there over xmas and he had one as a hire car!

VW south afica still make them, its not a GTI shell, it only 4 door though

i cant insure an RS2, which is a shame
but a mexico or harrier i can
and a turbo is out of the question, but an XR2 would do
or a capri, thatd be cool

theres allways a few mk1 rs200 reps in the back of classic ford for good money

yes booklands it the ultimate, but i would want a heated garage to keep it in other option is to get a project and stikc the cosworth 24v V6 in it

The picture of the mk1 golf was a 5 door, so it cud be a someone importing them?? the engines availible were 1.2, 1.4 & 1.6
