I'm considering a new camera, ive got around £400 to spend on something that does good day and night pics.Im also considering a tripod as i like to take fotos and have my own site, i dont realy have a clue about cameras so would like some advise from some of you i.e ICY!!

The camera does not make a night pic good.
A camera with a night mode, or one which you can manually set a shutter speed will make a nice photo, assuming the photographer has also invested in good support and chooses a location wisely - ie. already plenty of ambient light and not much movement.
Pretty much all the cameras in that price bracket will have the right features but there is a knack to night time stuff.

£400 will buy you a decent prosumer camera.

if you think about getting a DSLR you could pic up a canon 300D for around the same price soon
