Did you buy it on a credit card? I seem to remember some card issuers were running a promotion for payment protection where you were protected against price being decreased within a certain time after buying.

Robbo: same thing happened to me.

...it's called great business sense from Apple -- squeezing the last few pounds out of the ipod mini at Valentines day before dropping the price
