This guy build up feedback selling baby clothes, then listed £50k worth of TFT monitors, processors and PS2 games, took most of the payment and left the country.

http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=mandgsales

I nearly gave him 600 quid except drove 150 miles to collect and the monitor wasn't there. Few days later all that appeared.

Not really, I'm just not trusting so he didn't get money until I saw the goods. It surprises me how easily people will part with money, see it all the time in complaints about people not paying up on here. Drive or don't trade, solve the problem.

That said, I've spent over a grand remotely in the past and paid by bank transfer and waited. I did know his employment history and the names of both of his neighbours though.

My mate lost out on a gamecube he bought.

I got fucked when sending a DVD recorder, sent it via royal mail 1st class, and it apparently didn't arrive so had to buy a replacement and send that. cost me £240 or something

No that was silly, might have only cost you about another £3-5 quid standard parcel with compensation.

Ren - no the entire deception was worth that much, later figures said more.

I think the most one person lost was about a grand.
