got a phone call on tuesday asking me to come for an interview today. the company is called Highbury Leisure LINK they are basically a magazine publisher, do all the designing and advertising in house. as u can see from the link they are fast car magazine too. the section i got called by were Gardens Monthly 
so went for the interview, and the position avaliable was a layout setter kinda of thing. would just be in charge of designing the layouts for the pages, adverts etc. TBH i wasnt really interested in this, as i want to design things instead of being resticted by just layouts. the interviewer said i was also not suited for the job, as its no expressive enough for me.
so she made a call to another section of the building, and a designer for 'Fast Bike' magazine came over. I showed him my portfilio and explained my work and how i created the images in photoshop and he was really impressed by it all. Told him bout my car and other interests (web design, music production etc) and he has the same interests so got on really well 
he said hes gona give me a ring next week and see if i can come in for a few days for some work experience, the Gardeners monthly also said the same 
they also gave me alot of good adive on how to get a job in the design industry, and they both said i should contact record lables to do CD/DVD/LP cover design, as im well suited to that.
so all in all, havent been offered a job, but got a few leads into some bits, just hope to get a foot in the door, as thats one of the hardest things to do it the Graphic Design industry
