The next time you hear bush talking about the nuclear threat caused by North Korea please consider this article from 2002
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/1908571.stm
I wonder how the U.S. knows so much about their nuclear programme??

"building two proliferation-proof nuclear reactors"
Do you understand what that bit means? tamper proof fuel rods. which means elements of C14 wont allow the waste to be re-used as weapons grade plutonium.

I understand the reasons Bush is giving for the investment... I just find it hard to understand why they want to develop the nuclear capacity of such an unstable country. Sounds a bit too close to the Iraq mess... We arm them as long as we can control it-- they stop us controlling it.... we flatten the place

the nuclear power stations were simply for power purposes only. Kind of a trade agreement, and also to show the rest of the world that N Korea is developing nuclear material for energy, rather than a bomb. N Korea is only unstable in the eyes of western politicians. I wouldnt worry about it.
