Yes black cars are usually lacquered as black is a very soft colour.

The trouble with that is that when they do fade they can't be polished back as you're polishing the clear coat and not the red pigment

the way i did my white corsa to cover the rust spots i founds its best to re-spray that whole area, in this case it was the tailgate and all that was needed was the glass masking and the plates taking off, primed it with white primer and then over sprayed with the glacier white, doesnt completely match the old clour but you never do get an exact match due to weathering, if its a new car then its more likely to match up better laqured it after to give it a shiney finish, take your time with the cans its best to spray it in moderation or you'll get runs, best off a light spray leave for 15 mins then to the next coat get alot better finish .

Sorry i was pissed when i wrote the above comment last night
Dont mask it, as it'll leave lines, blend it, the trouble is when a bodyshop blends lacquer they thin the lacquer and do it, then thin it again and go further but you can't do that with cans. Just spray the area that needs lacquering and make sure its fully dry (give it a couple of days) then rub the blend line down with 2000grade and polish it back
