Hi,

I've got a 1.2 Corsa B LS, 1994 L reg. Currently it has no PAS, and its a pig to steer

I want to put 15s on it soon, so i think i really should get a PAS kit. Does anyone know how much they are? And more importantly, how much it will roughly cost to get it fitted??

Thanks

While you're driving, yes. The wheel doesn't turn dead centre when viewed from above, otherwise it wouldn't return to centre when you let go of the wheel. Because the tyres are now wider, the steering offset is now relatively smaller in proportion to contact area and specific ground pressure.

When you're stopped of course - different matter - the outsides of the tyre are further away from each either so there's a higher polar moment of intertia on the same mass. Same reason that its easier to spin your body back and forward if your arms are by your sides, compared to if they're stretched out.

ps. fitting PAS is difficult, consider changing the car and getting electric bits while you're at it.

Hmmm, ok, i think i will have to buy the wheels, get them fitted and have a try

I dont really care if its hard to steer when stationary, just if its the same when moving it would be hell! But if its easier thats cool

Thanks for the input
