Test a wiring loom if i take it into them..think they have a diagnostics centere they would be able to send it to?

Never heard of this being done. Prodrive have such a facility but I'd guess a new loom is cheaper.

Whats up with it?

not sure...was told when i bought the engine it idle's high and low (so i thought idle speed control valve) but apparently, vaux has checked angine out and say its the loom i cant see that myself, and still think its a sensor, but need to check loom just in case. Wheres prodrive? how much do they charge for such a service?

Prodrive build WRC Scoobys, it won't be cheap.

Check all plugs first, detach, clean with WD-40 and reattach.
