You running F20 or F28?

The MTech kit looks as if its to suit the F28 but, the weight is a disadvatage.

I know of people running LETs on F20's with no problems but shall i forget the weight disadvantage and see it as an advantage to take the weight and get the wheels down........

Just looking for people with experience really.

F20

Would rather an F28, but price difference is huge. If you are tuning your engine definately go for the f28, or if you do alot of motorway driving go for it too.

I will upgrade mine when i have got some money

depends on how far you are going to tune it? Are you going to fit a diff? I persoanlly would buy and f28 and fit it in one go. F20 could cope with the power reliabily but say you get an unhealthy box it wont last very long at all.

It went something like this.......

Teddy had LET - Decided not to do it - sold it
Teddy bought Cav GSi whole car - took out XE attached TB's - decided not to do it - sold it
Teddy wants LET power

After owning the Calibra - i know the XE wont be enough - i need more.

XE's are quick very very quick

But LET is a different league.

Ill do the F28 purely because it can "handle" the power, plus with a bit more weight might give me a cat in hells chance of getting the power actually on the tarmac.

I wouldn't bother with anything less than an F28. Your just living on borrowed time really. My top tip for LET's, don't do things by halves, it will bite you!

I've already done one F28 in, which I know was fully re-conned before it went in...

I know people that have done 4 or 5 F20's. If your an agressive driver you need the best box you can.

both tough boxes, don't let forum repetitions fool you into believing chinese whispers, ratios are closer together obviously in the f28, where can you rip the fook out of it in 6th gear?
People brake boxes, yes, take a look at the whole setup of the drivetrain and you'll find out why.
