I think it depends on the person as to whether or not they find it offensive

So should a Pakistani person from Pakistan take offence to being called a "Paki"?
I can see it would be offensive calling an Indian a Paki... would be like me being called English just because I'm from Britain etc.
That's the way I see it anyway
thats a good way of looking at it

But Dav if someone called you a jock wud you be offended??
its aload of sh1t at the end of the day they shudnt go around calling each other paki or nigger if they find it offensive if being called that by another race,
yet if someone called me a honky id pi55 myself at them.
its all politically correct know so you have to mind what you say, plus i can believe they removed the golly woggs off the robinson jam jars because blacks found it offensive WTF!!! its their problem if they offend to it the gollys were drawings of 1940/50's performers called minsterals. nuff said

its like now they are meant to be changing the red croos symbol to a red diamond because muslims find it offensive :O and they are changing that dvd of the 20 greatest footballers so there are some black ones. its PC gone mad, even john barnes said they shouldnt change it. if the 20 footy players are white thats not racist it's probably just because more white people play football in this country or something

its all very well saying thay and it all seems a simple idea but your missing the point.
if you call someone a scott generally its not said in the context to mean offence. Where as in the majpority of cases if someone called someone a paki its usually in the context to cause offence. You see the difference?
And where as you see black and aisian people calling each other nigger and pakki its usually in jest or light hearted way. Since when have you ever seen somone calling a person in the street a pakki in a non offensive way?
