I currently have an insurance policy running on my Corsa which i have 2 years NCB on (currently into my 3rd year) with Company A.

Now i'm wanting to take out a new policy on a different car and use my 2 years NCB allowance (so i'll be starting my 3rd year) with Company B.

Rather than cancelling my policy with Company A (as i'd only get about £200 back) i was planning on keeping it running until it expires so that i have 3 years NCB with Company A incase i crash my new car which will be insured with Company B.

Is this possible or would i have to cancel my policy with Company A and start from scratch with 2 years NCB with Company B and if i crash my new car i'll have to start all over again with 0 NCB? ..

My Dad said that i'd have to register my new car with Company B as a 'second car' which would in effect make the policy cheaper but would mean that if i crashed my new car i would lose my NCB with both Company A and Company B.. ??
