Need to retain my number plate...havnt got another car to assign it to as of yet...I know you need to fill in a V778/1 form...but what details do I need to take to the DVLA office in order for them to do it....

Im presuming...

V5
MOT
Proof of Identity (Passport)
Proof of Address (Utility Bill)
Tax Disc

Also is it just the £25 retention fee I need to pay....and am I able to tax the car at the local DVLA office while im there as it needs taxing by the end of this month and I wont get the V5 back in time to do it...??

just v5, MOT and tax disc.
with the tax disc get a photocopy one.

You mean get the tax disc out the car photcopied and leave it in the car...and take the copied one to the office?

as they where going to keep it and i needed it.

Well hopefully when I tax it when im doing the plate retention they can have my old tax disc...??

Just unsure how it works as they would need to do the tax disc in my assigned reg not my private reg?
