just been bought by spadge on pf, is brilliant IMO

gartrac escort with a difference. From the outside this animal looks like a very clean red 90 spec RS Turbo on 17's. On the inside it is pure Sierra Cosworth. The engine is new (not recon) staring with a long studded 4x4 200 block with forged valve cutout pistons, WRC 4 layer head gasket. The head is fully ported with Kent BD14 Cams with iski valve springs and new followers and Kent Vernier pulleys, also bailey breather system. It runs Bosch 403 grey injectors, 3bar map sensor, level 6 ECU, Bosch 044 uprated fuel pump and group A coil. The TURBO is a new jap style state of the art, MD240R rollerbearing unit built by Turbo Dynamics (one of the countries top turbo manufacturers). It comprises of a T28 exhaust housing with a T4 compressor housing with a rollerbearing core, running an easy 2bar of boost, very low lag. It has samco hoses and a polished Group A Spec R dumpvalve, all blowing through and RS500 intercooler. The ENGINE was built professionally by Joe Stevens of Bluesprint Motorsport in Essex. He specialises in Formula 1 and Cosworth engines. The engine was run in and setup on an engine dyno, before being put into the car. On the dyno the engine made 400bhp. The CLUTCH is a AP 6 paddle item. The GEARBOX is a very tough T5 from a 2WD cossie, using a 1 piece propshaft, running to a 7" 2WD cosworth diff. The car has the whole 2WD cosworth rear beam. STEERING : This car also uses 2WD cossie front crossmember with the quick power steering rack (YES PAS). SUSPENSION : Upfront it has 2WD suspension legs with uprated springs, also adjustable lower track control arms. At the rear there is GAZ coilovers which have adjustable softness and ride height. The car also uses polyurathane bushes allover. BRAKES : At the front there is Willwood 300mm discs plus Willwood 4pot calipers plus braided hoses. The the rear is complete 2WD cosworth setup, discs and callipers. Also again, braided hoses. This vehicle also uses the cosworth ABS braking system. WHEELS : 8x17" Rondells with avon 205, 40, 17 tyres at the front and extreme road legal semi slick 205, 40, 17 tyres at the rear. BODY : The car from the outside is a radiant red MK4 escort with 90spec RS front bumper and boot spoiler, with RST bodykit and bonnet, also clear indicators and side repeaters and alloy petrol cap. INTERIOR : Is full 90spec RS turbo trim with electric windows, mirrors, c/locking, boost gage, 170mph speedo, big rev counter with shift lights, RS 4 spoke steering wheel and alloy gear knob. Also even rear seatbelts. STEREO SYSTEM : It comprises of Alpine clipoff CD tuner plus Kenwood graphic equaliser, with focal mid and tweeter kit upfront, plus Alpine mid and tweeter kit in back. In boot is an Alpine 10" sub in a sealed box, all powered by 2 400watt orion combal Amps. ALARM : Also has an Insurance approved Clifford alarm, AvantGuard2, it locks doors and has an engine start facility. PERFORMANCE : 400bhp. 0-60 sprint at Ford Fair 2004, was 4.8 seconds, with no traction in 1st gear. Santa Pod summer 2004, ran a 12.7 second standing 1/4mile at 113mph on road tyres (hence bad traction off the line). This time would easily drop if used slick tyres. Top speed : I have taken it to 160mph with more to go!! THIS ESCORT was built in 1992. It was a Maxpower cover car in 1994. Also featured in Performance Ford Mag in 2000. It was in the top 100 best ever featured Fords in Performance Ford Mag in June 2003. The car is at a much higher spec now than it was back then. All the spec and parts listed are all under 18 months old. The engine was brand new and only covered 2000 miles since it was built. It doesn't use any oil (no smoke!), heaven for a cossie. The car itself has only covered 32000 from new with all old MOT's. The car is currently taxed and tested. This is the ULTIMATE RS TURBO
