£300 overdraught limit means £300 and no more yes???
WRONG
My bank 'decided' to let me take out £600 last month & now sting my ass about it & limit me back to £300...
apparently certain amounts in transactions are guarantee'd regardless of how much clear funds you have...
so basically I now have £70 to last me 4 weeks & also go the pod this weekend...
Fcuk that shit - I'm changing banks next month!
HSBC = Total Cocks

Perhaps you should look after your account a bit better.

If you have used your overdraft and you write a cheque backed uo with a cheque guarantee card...then the Bill Of Exchanges Act means that the bank has to honour your cheque...therefore allowing you to use more than your arranged overdraft...
To be fair I think you should take more care of your account...as its your responsibility...

you'll find all banks do this not just hsbc. I have found hsbc overlook it alot of the time if you have a steady income and you dont go in the red by too much

I reduced my limit to try and be sensible then got charged when I went over it, phoned up to complain that my responsible borrowing ways had landed me a charge, he said that was correct so I just put it to the most I could have. Three grand now so I don't get charged so often
