I know loads of Mini owners and don't know anyone thats had a single problem.
There were a few issues with the very early ones but thats to be expected with any totally new model.
Still makes me smile when i chuck it around corners. Shall be sad to see her go

I got one
MINI2 is by far the best forum--- loads of owners from america and britain on their....you can find out pretty much anything you need to know.
COOLNEW, Mossmini and new mini spares are very good for parts... but you are best off just looking through sponser directory on mini 2.
First thing she needs to do is replace shocking run flat tyres-- my only real complaint with the car was that you could not get rid of these as a factory option.
I would highly recomend miltek exhaust -- its by far the best one availiable for the mini, the pipercross induction seems to work well on mine, and the reduced supercharger pulley is superb

I know lots who have had problems.... all these were on models before 2004 builds... The later ones(including mine thankfully) seem to be pretty solid

We have a mini one D and the MPG to them is amazing, we had a mini one before that had 110K when we sold it Was still on original clutch and had no mechanical failure what so ever. The only fault we did has was and airbag sensor kept turning the warning light on, but this was covered under warrenty and BMW also gave us £1250 compensation for the inconvinience and loss of earnings whilst it was in being repaired.
How long did she have to wait for the D as when we went to buy a new one we were told there was atleast a 10month wait on them, so we ended up buying a 2month old one with 3K on the clock
