with a spec sort of like this

F15/5 CR 5 speed Gearbox
SBD 164 Taper Throttle bodies with ram trumpets
2.0 16V Bosch blue fuel injectors
Custom throttle cable assembly
Weber 2.5 Bar FPR
NGK twin groove spark plugs
Full cover ITG foam air filter with quick release mechanism
Custom catch tank with pipercross crankcase vent
Relocated header tank
Carbon fiber SBD sparkplug cover

Management:

MBE 967 programmable ECU
TP164 modded software (originally mapped by Steve Broughton, modified by Rob Smith)
SBD Air temperature sensor
SBD aircraft spec engine-wiring loom
Engine warning light used as shift light

what sort of bhp could be produced?

I would say so yeah, but id imagine it would also cost a lot more than a standard xe

asked because i can now get a tuned 1.6 to that spec and it would be cheaper and save alot of hassel fittign an xe and buying all the bits needed for conversion

all i know is that its a pre ecotect engine and has less that 50 k

This won't give you more power.

SBD 164 kit gives 164bhp, cunningly.

230-240bhp is available in race trim.

The SBD164 kit won't give 164, cunningly, as they did the tests on a colsed cell dyno, more realistically you'll be looking at 150-156 off the kit.

i had the 164 kit from sbd in 97, had a few other bits done to it but had 168bhp out of it............god i miss that engine
