Reet set up i have at the mo is crappy TV + Free view box. audio goes out of FV box in to stereo job down.

Now ive got a 28' TV and a DVD player + my Freeview box

How should I wire the sound for this?
Put 'Y' splitters on the phono IN on the stereo so i can run the DVD player and the freeview box in to it that way or . .

Buy a scart externer thing so i can plug 4 scarts in to the one socket. Then the DVD player and Freeview will plug in to that and plug in to the TV and the other scart socket on the TV with have a scart to phono and then in to the stereo?

Or something else?

get an AV amp mate, otherwise your seriously gonna screw something up - especially with the idea of y splitters and such

if you get an AV amp, you can wire everything in perfectly, ie: has composite ins as well as audio, so you then can switch stuff via the AV amp etc And a fairly decent AV amp will only set you back about 150-200 quid mate and atleast then you can have dolby digital as well

year but a) its alot of pissing around mate and b) you can switch sources from a remote instead of having to go to your scart box and flick switches etc etc and c) it looks good and you can get a propper home cinema setup going with dolby digital, instead of stereo/mono sound

have a look of www.richersounds.com mate

hmmm

I think it would be easier to purchase a scart to L and R rca plugs only. Run that from one of the Scart to the Stereo

And use a scart extender to plug in the DVD, Freeview to the other scart socket. Then all sound that goes through the TV (providing the other scart has this Audio Out/Monitoring/Bi-Directional facility)

I havent got room in my bedroom for any more stuff so cant have surround sound and stuff

Just got a new TV downstairs and i set that up last night. Its ACE!

well get rid of your stereo, get an av amp and a decent set of speakers and with the dvd player you have a stereo if you need it Then wack a film in and you have pro-logic (if you have 3 speakers up front), get two more in the back and you have dolby digital 5.1, get a centre in the back and you have 6.1

tbh mate, its the way i would do it and atleast the you will have a decent setup that will last

but aye, you could do the scart way...just make sure its a switchable jobby and of decent quality

well then get some bookshelfs or something up front and a centre channel and you have pro-logic Then get some mission sats or other sat speakers for the back

HP - mission 75s are alright lad (mission have seriously gone down hill, even their pro studio monitors are shite), but i would have spent the extra for something better - like B&Ws, A&Es etc Now if you had a set of old school 760is (or something similar from that era) then i could understand why you chose them

Doesnt your TV & DVD player got Component input?
Alternative to Scart.

Heres my home cinema.
http://www.avforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=9069

Toshiba 46" DLP TV.
Sony AV Reciever, Connected to DVd via Digital Coaxial cable.
Panasonic S97 DVD PLayer connected to TV via HDMI.
Xbox - Modified to play Hi-Definition pictures, connected to TV via component. Connected to AV reciver via Optical Cable.
And a Panasonic Surround Sound System.

Speakers are small for now as ive run out of space so when ive got more time and space its gonna be upgraded
