how do you get them to work with all this steam bollocks? tried just bringing down the console and editing the shortcut already. fnarg.

They work in the console, you can enable the console in the game's options.

noclip

go into steam & select the properties for half life 2, then put -console in the Launch Options
then when playing, bring down the console (will work now) and type
sv_cheats 1
god bloody obvious
impulse 101 all weapons/ammo
impulse 102 makes a skull appear - dont ask why 
or bind them...
bind b "impulse 101"
just means then you press B when your ammo runs out or something - saves bringing the console down each time...
you can bind all cheats to any keys - just make sure there not in use, oh and you need to re-bind them if you ever exit restart halflife

You dont need to put -console in launch options, there's a checkbox for it in the game's options when you load it.

already have the console working, just wasnt doing anything when i bash stuff in as i missed the sv_cheats 1 bit.  im off to have some fun on the first level with a rocket launcher
