No, dont do it. One sub will get more power than the other plus dont mix different brand off subwoofers. wont sound to good.

Its not as simple as that. It really depends on many things and the subwoofer itself. However there is no real need to have two subwoofers. If your after spl, then just get one good sub, instead of twon lower class ones and properly power it. eg. a RE SX 12 getting 1200 RMS in a ported enclourse

mate, more subs will push more volume of air, therefore it will be louder in terms of a SPL system Hence why the andy bloke on here (has a silver corsa B) has 8 (or is it 10?) 10"s in his corsa, and at half power its running at 140 odd dB

although yes, ported boxes are gernally used in SPL systems as they help to incorporate the air of the car/van - hence seem louder etc etc

as for the orignal question aztec - DVC 2ohm sub x 2, would equal a 4ohm or 1ohm load. DVC 4ohm sux x 2, would equal 8ohm or 2 ohm load,

so you would have an 8ohm and 4ohm loads (cant go for 1 and 2 as it would be 0.xx ohm and not many amps could handle that) and wired in series it would be more than 8ohms (which you dont want) and wired in parallel it would be about 3ohms....which again you dont want. So it aint gonna work lad

if i just want volume then Dom, i should have 2 x DVC @2ohm subs, rather than 1 higher powered sub?

Ive been warned againt ported subs as u arent relying on sub being air sprung, your more likely to cook subs?

holla back

gawd some people tell you some shite aye (the cooking bit)

The more subs you use, the more air you will shift, the louder it will be.

For example, if you had 2x 250wRMS 10" subs, it would be louder than a single 500wRMS 10" sub.

It also depends on the maximum excursion of the sub you are getting.

cheerz, one final question before i hit the shops guru's...

when i look at sub's tecnical spec's, what the short hand code for excursion?
cause when lookin on car audio direct, only a few of the subs say the excursion?

or could u just recomend two subs to run off a mono x6 amp. (750 rms 1221 peak)

cheerz for everyones help so far
