Ian, it only appears to be working on the front page of classifieds, the one with parts offered/wanted/cars for sale mixed, and not on the individual sections

The housing estate over the road is listed for me, so close to my own area. It's down as Milton Keynes either way

Yeah its only in the one place at the moment. It was more of a test to see if it was working and what the uptake on it was.

IIRC when it was first brought in (before it popped up in Classifieds) it was a bit inaccurate?

The data is missing a few places, I can add postcodes and districts if you know of any additions.

The distances are worked out as the crow flies and then there's a special secret magic formula that approximates the real distance. Its not 100% accurate, but its better than it was.

Getting it completely down to the nearest mile would need the map data, which is even bigger and more difficult to get hold of

u2u me the code, district name, county and what other postcodes are nearby so I can give you a grid reference.

I'm going to do more with it, classifieds is getting re-written at some point anyway and when adverts are placed you'll be asked whether you would like to give a location for them.

The same technology is also going to appear in meets and events so you can see what is close of those as well.
