section is online on the vauxhall website,

Its coming out in spring 2005 with engines ranging from 90 - 170bhp, and the VXR in summer 2005 at 230 BHP!!!!!

The 3 door astras look much better than the 5 door

Here we go again, Vauxhall de-tuning engines and not giving them the cutting edge that they need to compete with the big players, i.e Mk5 Golf GTi, new Focus, CTR etc etc etc

No it's obvious they are detuning to fill the gap in the range. They aint going to produce a 200 BHP version. It would take sales away from the VXR.

It said in the review it was quicker than the GTI and cheaper

The sport hatch is even better in the metal. Panoramic windscreen is v.nice

The VXR is 240bhp and looking at the pics they esitimate it would look even wilder.

Car magazine said it will eat the Focus RS, Mk5 Golf Gti etc.... They loved the prototype.
