Those are beasts - some bloke is building an extra light one with a 700bhp engine

. Instead of top speed being limited by aerodynamics or power... they can't find a gearbox with gearing good enough for 220+

I'm assumign the guy is using a chevy engine again??? The gearbox that is attached to the 5.7 litre v8 GenIII LS1 engine is capable of taking up to 1100bhp+ with few modifications.. torque figures on that are bound to be quite high...

gearbox can be found in the Corvette, Monaro, Commodore and a few other cars GM made with the GenIII engine..

Also the new 6.0 V8 LS2 fitted in the New Corvette and VY Monaro (out soon) is said to be more powerful and is estimated to be tuned to over 900bhp with around 600lb/ft of torque without changing the box at all

Am I reading those Datron results properly, in that he changed from 1st to 2nd somewhere between 60-65mph?
