Depends on the resolution in DPI.

o ... well im makin an a4 page advert for a magazine and just need to know wot size to use in photoshop .. i set it to A4 but it seems to be too big...

In photoshop just change the 'pixels' to 'cm' and put in the size in centimeter. A4 is 21cm width and 28cm in height.

Start a new in Photoshop, and yu get an option IIRC to set it to the DPI of the printer you're using, so it should be correct.

printer dpi is unknown its max power .. i duno wot printer they use :S

ohhh.. try 92dpi. They'll resize if necessary anyway.

Magazines tend to use a minimum of 300dpi, so I'd stick to that. Your ad will print bad quality otherwise.

Also, before you design it, get ad prices if you haven't already. Might be alot more expensive than you think.

Use 300dpi for print, 72dpi for web.

Any higher than A2, stick it into 400dpi and you might be able to get away with designing it at 50% of the size (as it can be scaled up).
