Hi

Since selling my Red Corsa C SRi 1.4 16v, and having owned an LPG Astra mk4 SXi, and then a mk3 Astra CD 150bhp sleeper for a short time, i finally decided to get another corsa.

Having enjoyed the benifits of LPG, but not the terrible boot space (lpg tank), ive decided to opt for another economical car.

I wasnt really looking for somehting extremely powerfull, just good mpg and decent spec car. had a look at the 1.7 cdti stats, 100bhp, great mpg and plenty of torque, and same figures as tyhe 1.4 16v sri. I have only driven the 1.3 cdti, they go very well for 1.3, so i thought great, a 1.7 is going to have plenty of punch over the 1.3 and will be fine.

Picked it up this weekend. What a lovely motor, plenty of welly in it, most certainly will give the 1.4 sri a run for its money. So much fun to drive, and excellent mpg.

To get the ball rolling im trying to pull a CDTi chip in from germany which should see it about 20ps extra. To add to that, some better induction and a de cat pipe on the standard exhaust system.

This should make it a rite little animal, just hope the chip doesnt make her too thirsty thats all.

Oh yeah, just to add, it has 5 stud hubs, so theres a set of mk4 astra gsi 17s going on. lovely!

Pictures to follow.

Has anyone else had experience with this model of car and also any further tuning advice.

cheers

there is as much tuning potential in td's nowadays as there is in the petrol turbos.
essecially the vw tdi's
you can get a 245 bhp upgrade for the 1.9.
