how often should you change cambelt?
my car has done 66,000 miles now, R reg.
Don't think its been changed before?

and also how much would it cost to change?

Yep, when the mileage has gone over the recommended period before a change. Then you're on borrowed time. Cheaper than a £1400 for the repair if it does go.

Thats a wake up call for me then, my belt, rollers and all the rest needed changed 20k miles ago.


Is it a good idea to change the water pump aswell???

Only if you feel play in it. How many miles are we talking??
Plus for the cost vs. piece of mind ratio maybe worth it.

cambelt had gone on my c20xe when brought it very lucky just 3 slightly bent valves and marked piston i think but piston is ok

had coscast head fully checked tested and fixed job done thanks dan
