No they're not! I bought a load of spares from a bloke for a tenner: exhaust manifold, fuel rail, injectors, AFM...

Just hunt around on Mig and ebay and ask if anyone's got anything gathering dust.

fitted new afm today and it flies!!!

much better

only prob now is that it over heats in traffic and starts steaming. i have been told that i need a new thermostat housing which is really cheap.

does anyone think this will solve the problem?

good that you got it running better now.

where is the steam coming from?
that would be a good thing to check before randomly replacing the stat housing.

its coming from under the bonnet obviously but i dont know where

i will check next time it happens but a stat housing only costs 75p at autovaux.

it only happens when in traffic and the temp gauge just rises to 98/100.

ive taken to turning the engine off now in heavy traffic!!

75p i reckon is probably for the hi=ousing bolts. i doubt they could even make the housing that cheap.

run it outside your house at fast idle with the bonnet up. you'll soon see where the steam is coming from.

keep bottles of water in the car with you till it's sorted.
is the fan coming on ok?
