Basicly some women reversed into my girlfriends car last night, it hasnt caused that much damage, just cracked the paint on the bumper.

If she reports it to the insurance co, when she renews her insurance, they still want to know if you have had any accidents regardless if there your fault or not.
Even if there not, dont they usually put your premium up still??

What we are wondering is, is it worth reporting it, or just asking her to pay for the bumper to be resprayed??

cheers

if he had just one accident he caused, then his insurance company wouldnt have refused to cover him.. it was the fact he had 3 accidents that they didnt want to cover him..

my dad's insurance was put up because he was crashed into in his car and also knocked off his motorbike, both not his fault but they say decided that it should affect his premium because he wasnt driving defensively!

ohh ffs look if you get crashed into and its not your fault your premium is not affected if it is then your with a cowboy insurance company, if that was the case nobody would bother with insurance

i've had 2 non fault accidents. First on was where i got reversed into while my car wasnt even moving, costing 1300 to get mended - this didnt affect my premium.
More recently i was involved in an accident where a drunk driver with no insurance overtook me in a 30 zone at 90mpoh+, lost control, hit a wall, which then resulted in bits of car and wall hitting my car and causing a fair bit of damage. This is not affecting my premium either, however, the repairs have come out of my own pocket untill hes due in court and gets either fined or sentenced.

if your going through insurance tell them, otherwise don't!

I had a massive argument a few years back because I informed elephant.co.uk that I'd had an accident (non fault) paid for out of insurance and they tried putting my premium up and taking my ncb!

I've learnt not to inform them unless you are claiming through insurance!

Someone reversed into my car on Thursday, causing £2k worht of damage. He admitted blame & called his insurance (esure I think). They promptly called me & told me they were dealing with it, they would arrange collection & a courtesy car.. basically I didn't need to do anything. They told me NOT to inform my insuracne, as they had no reason to know about it, and that way, there is no chance it affecting my records etc.. They also advised me not to declare it when I obtain any future quotes.

non fault accidents do seem to add to premiums, FACT.

My m8 had a van hit him and claimed on his insurance. Looking for insurance it does make a diffference to the price if he declares it even tho it was non fault.

If it's just the paint then i would just leave it; it's just a metter of time before you get another mark of some kind. Some smart arse has scratched my rear bumber (small line) but i couldn't give a wank anymore. The world is just full of cunts!
