rite dudes, I got a big split in my tyre from a pothole on a B road(I think) in lincoln,it penetrated the tyre and has a puncture, I have pics in my garage etc- i also took pics of the hole and measured the depth to get well over 5cm, and it is in perfect alignment for all average sized vehicles( cars in otherwards) to prove I wasnt cutting the corner, I bought a new tyre and the tyrefitter said I was lucky my wheel aint bent, and he put it downon the invoice as pothole damage etc, I have compiled a comprehensive and pictorial letter, spanning approx 8 pages with images, showing that the tyre had 5-7mm tread left pre accident and was by no means very worn etc, has anyone else tried claiming? I am asking for details etc over making a claim and contacting insurers n stuff, Im all excited yet worried I wont get reimbursed, how have u dudes got on claiming about the state of the roads?

depends where you are mate my old man claimed and they refunded him the cost for a new saab alloy (about 300 quid each)
although if they refuses, then go write to the papers with something along the lines of "we pay road tax for damage" etc etc

Im definately going to have a good try at claiming for a tyre, and i had not thought about writing to the local papers, cheers for that i dont think i am being dishonest, just having something repaired that is there fault
