.. Found an interestingly lit building by me that i think would make a mint backdrop for a photoshoot, just wondering what are the best settings to be using, like the ISO speed, how long to have the shutter open for etc.

Havent got a Tripod im affraid which is a real pain and major downfall for my un-steady hand in low light pics .

You got to keep the camera stable, use a bag or another firm object to rest the camera on if you don't want to buy a tripod...

Courtesy of your aquatic friend whom shall remain nameless:

forget about ISO settings. if your camera has a night mode you can use that or use the Aperture priority setting and let the camera choose the shutter speed. then if the result is not to your liking switch to manual and adjust shutter accordingly. you can use anything to hold the camera still - a wall, a car etc. when using long exposures use your timer function to remove shutter release shake

Icy - do you use all this slow exposure timing at night to make the most of whatever light there is?

I accidentally set my Fuji to that mode and got some mental pics.
