I have to find the partial fraction of:

1,
6X^2 + 8X + 16
(X+2).(X^2 +4)

2,
6X^2 + 8X +16
(X+2).(X+4)

Its the top line divided by bottom line. and obviously X is a letter and not mean to be Times.

Can Anyone help me?

(6x^2+8x+16)/( (x+2).(x^2+4) ) = A/(x+2) + Bx+C/(x^2)

Cross Mulitply:

6x^2+8x+16= A(x^2+4) + (Bx+C)(x+2)

6x^2+8x+16= Ax^2 + 4A + Bx^2 + 2Bx + Cx + 2

Then equate coefficients to find A, B and C.

Then express in the original form, substituting what you got for A, B and C.

Yeah. For Q2 do the same but use B instead of Bx+C.

you shouldnt be doing that subject fella, or get extra help! not being funny, but my algebra module at uni was fecking hard, went to the extra classes and it really did help

Im not really doing maths on its own, im doing Mechatronics day release, and i have 2 hours of maths each day, as well as other subjects.

When i got home i realised i had already done the questions... but i got a slightly different answer i think.
