As subject I made a transfer the other day from my Royal Bank account to a Halifax account and got charged £20 for the service

The thing is other people say they've done it/can do it for free.

Is this true for all banks?

I went into the Bank and did it that way.

Am I missing out on something? Should I be doing it online?

I do it online from my RBS account to Halifax all the time and never been charged for it.
