Sit down and work out your monthly wages.

EG -

1500 income
500 rent
100 phone bill

blah blah blah so you know what you can/cant afford to do.

^^^

I did this and it gives you a clearer picture of where you stand and lets you manage your finances a bit better.

A simple excel spreadsheet will do.

Surely if that bank has fucked up, you can sort it out or get advice from someone on how to sort it out? 1.5k > 6k is quite a big difference!

I'd rather live a life of poverty than get a loan........

Loan's are like the lottery, one single idea brainwashes the country and people fall for it everytime.

only loan I would ever go for is a consolidated one at a fixed rate if I had numerous other small loans. I hope never to be in the position though.

Whoever started the first loan company is a genius, same with cameltoe i mean camelot or whatever, millions and millions of dosh is been stuffed into their pockets because people aren't smart enough to work out it's a bad idea, and the classic phrase which suggests you have been brainwashed is " It's easier to get a loan now, then save my wages and pay it off over a longer amount of time "

No, loans for cars are the ones which make people struggle, I hear countless amounts of people telling me about how they took a loan for their car, end up getting bored of it, selling it for a shit price privately and then still stuck with the loan.

Car loans are for pleasure mostly, not many young chavs need a car as if they are working they are most likely training (to which they will commute with a senior member of staff at their work) or be a shop statue stood behind a fucking counter allday long, which is probably within bus route

last time i took a bus was the last day of my college training before I passed out to be qualified at my job. I travel allover the country (when I'm not laid up with a removed appendix) as I run an Industrial FireProtection company and do the odd mechanical job in my garage for the locals.

Paul my post wasn't aimed at you mate! it was in reply to car's being the most reason for loan's, you obviously need your own form of transport, as it's your asset to your future.
