Rite, i purchased an item off of ebay two and a bit weeks ago. It was a reputable ebay company with 100% feedback and hundereds of negative comments etc...
One the auction on Suday, sent a cheque straight away (as my card on paypal had expired). The cheque was made payable to the company and according to my statement cleared on October 8th; gave them a week to deliver and no sign. So contacted them and they say they have no record of payment So sent them cheque number and a few other details and have had this;
Hello Mat,
I've checked with the bank today and they have informed me that the cheque has not been paid into our account. This would tie in with the fact that your item is still marked as unpaid in our ebay listings.
Would it be possible for you to fax us a copy of your bank statement (you may cross out any other transactions) to ********* .
I'm not sure how else you could proove that the payment has been made?

don tknow myself but there has to be someway like their bank records or yours. maybe you will have to see your bank or something

Yeah, my statement only has the cheque number on tho; dosn't state who the cheque was payed to.
May have to pop down the bank in a min then

the bank will be able to show u what sort code and bank account the cheque went into, use that info to prove it went into theirs

i had a similar thing with my finance company for the car, they were saying they got no money but bank said they did,
eventually it turned out the ban had fuked up and sent it to the wrong place
