This morning sub started just thumping away (not to the song). Sounded more like static.
So pulled over and disconnected one side (its dual coil) and it still did it, so went to headunit and turned the Sub off. Went back still thumping.
Any ideas?
Its a Lightning Audio 15" running off a 250D Directed Amp and Pioneer headunit.

has everything been screwed down or does the amp fly about in the boot? Sounds like damaged/crushed RCA leads, bad ground on any device in the car.

sounds like an earth problem to me, usually the sub builds up static and cannot discharge it

Right ive reconnected all the wires, checked fuses and its still doing it.
Just turned the sub "off" from the headunit (cuts off output) and turned the volume on the amp up and it thumps like hell.
Any more ideas?

you got any 6x9's or another sub you can conect up to the amp. See if they make the same noise? This'll show if the problem is in the sub.
