the mot can be done 30 days before the expiry of the old one if you take the old ticket so in efffect you get 13 months mot

but you dont have to have it

mine ran out 5 weeks ago.... and my mates got my old one... and its hard to catch him cos he alway werks...

No but when i took my 106 for an MOT it come in useful as he just dated my new one from when the old one run out. Also gave him the service book to have a look at so he knew what parts had been replaced etc. Funny enough it passed with no faults; the guy even wanted to buy it but i didn't wanna sell at the time.
