bought it today

honda hawk 650 twin, ally frame etc etc, american import only
bit of a track wepon in the us, picked this up for under 1k, 1988 model,and was way ahaed of its time then, only done 9k and spent that time racing ducatis in the californian hills 
aim is to get it to this spec

yer he is, allready got a work bike etc, so this is his toy
plans are a africa twin 750 engine, cbr 600 forks, firblade shock, polished frame and swingarm, VRF wheels, and seat unit with centre exit exhaust comming from the US

indeed, sort the wheels doube discs up front... but the single swinger is impressive for its age

looks interesting.
surely an africa twin is designed for the wrong sort of stuff for it's engine to be usefull in a race bike?

yes and no, the arica twin is a bored out version of the orginal NT 650 engine, as they can only be bored out to 690 in that spec, change the head, and put the close ration gearbox on it and you have a monster

we are going to get some VFR wheels tommmorow, there desiged liek that though to cool the brakes though, ducati copied the swingarm
