indeed, but i dont rate the mk3 in any way shape or form, never driven one that felt nice to drive.. tis a shame really

The mk3 2.0 8v was good. Had loads of low down grunt with it being an 8v. Never drove the 16v though.
The mk4 1.8T is pretty disapointing, although actually quite nippy.

yeh the 8v is definately much better than the 16v,
cant belive vw badged the 1.8t up as a gti, definately doesnt live up to the badge, but the tdi,s however are pretty damn quick, especially the 150bhp models, although we dont seem to get many 150bhp ones, mainly 130's which are still good to drive
