I've havd mine over 2 years now, done nearly 40K in it and just done 800 miles this weekend. Its on 107K and has never missed a beat since i bought it!! For the amount of shit they get for being slow they make up for in reliability! Its also took me 3 hours to do 200 miles doin between 70 and 100 all the way home and only used half a tank!!

i only used half a tank to do 183miles yesterday  not a 1.2 8v neither

i still think anyone who says they done 100 in a 1.2 8v is talking through there hat.... theres is no way on this earth mine would do it.
also for all that slowness u'd think ya might save some fuel.... blahhhh i drive accroos my country alot and my car drinks petrol faster than i can drink beer(fast )
not for long though buying another engine on saturday

I could do a 100 (speedo reading) but mine had a pipe cam no air filter and stripped out interior.

ive had about 97mph out of mine and then it would go no further plus i have a sub and amp and 6x9s on a stealth shelf in the back so all that is a bit of extra weight but it has a K&N on it.

Yeah i did 100mph according to mine but more than likely it was no where near that figure, mine was stripped out as well.

on 13" steelys i got 87MPH outta mine... i reckon 90 was in her but it just sounded way to unhealthy
i had a trolly jack 2 spanner sets and a socket set in the boot... and a spare steely
all of this was down hill with the wind up me arse

only had 100 downhill on 14s
on 17s its 82mph top whack 
90on very steep hil tho

and d's managd to do 104 on the way back from manchester..
i was driving him sat in the passenger seat..
was down a big hill tho and it only has 4 gears

i've seen an indicated 110 on mine! I know the speedos out and blah blah blah, but it was there on the clock, going down the a43 which is a massive hill. Mine sits at 100 for miles on end, yeah its a struggle but it does it.

well red corsa, ur speedo is a god damn lier! lol i had a 1.2 16v and i got bout 105 out of that, and that was goin down a bloody hill! such, iv drove ur car, it doesnt do 97 mph mate, trust me, it doesnt. 1.2 8v a very reliable motor, that is true in my opinion, but then agen, it runs to slow to brake!

it did do 97 but that was going down a hill. on normall flat road it will do just over 80.

No i agree you can get more than 100 out of them but when you are going Down a Hill you can get more than 90 out of them. on normal flat road you cant get more than 90

My 1.2 8v has had a lot of abuse - it was my cousins who bought it brand new in 1993 - I bought it off her in 2000 - and it was near on dead - In 7 years she did 98,000 miles - and only changed the oil, spark plugs, leads, fuel filter e.t.c 3 times !!!!!!!!!!
At one point nothing had been changed for nearly 3 years !!!!
I got it in 2000 - and everything gave up - head gasket wnet blowing valves compression e.t.c. - and then 2 weeks after the master cylinder gave up and I had a "bump" into another Corsa...
But since then - Ive gave it nothing but love and compassion - and took it from its manky cadbury's purple - to a nice deep black and a mean looking kit...
Pic in the garage are old versions - had another spoiler and functional imprezza vent put on since (will get pics up ton maybe)...
Only prob now - is that coz it had so much abuse the engine has done 149,769 miles and it drinks petrol like mad...
Aint the quickest thing by any means - but can go through 2nd and 3rd quite happily - stuggles in 4th though (yes only 4 gears !!)
Def a good choice for a first car though !

I recon yours is special or summet. Mines a 16V and i had just me and the gf in the car. u had 4 in yours and u stuck to my arse. i dunno if you were, but i was thrashing the sh*t outta mine!
