Hi Everyone,
I'm new to these forums and i'd thought i'd share you my experience of owning a Corsa.
I got my Corsa Sting car in June and paid £3K for it. It is a beautiful Blue R Reg Corsa and I was so excited.
Anyway I picked it up on Saturday afternoon and filled her up with Petrol, but the next day, she broke down in the back roads near our area and we had to be towed back.
Well I was FUMING! Luckily it was under warrenty and was sent of to be repaired, after a week it still wasn't back so I phoned the garage up and they said they didn't know what was wrong with it. I waited another week and phoned again and found out it was the Head Gasket that went. After 2 1/2 weeks I was really annoyed that it still hadn't come back that I went down to the Garage and was really arsey with them. Suddenly they said "You'll Have It By Monday". Funny that they suddenly fix it when I go marching down there lol!
Anyway, it didn't come back on the Monday, it was the Wednesday, Ah well I wasn't bothered at least I had my beautiful corsa back.
Until the following Sunday, I went to go and picked some friends up but the car wouldn't start, Arrghhhh! The lights on the Dashboard started to fade. I knew then that the Battery went. I was so annoyed! The next day, someone from the garaged fitted a new battery and it went again.
Then the following week I was on a busy 60MPH road, after finishing work, and noticed a noise to the side door, I ignored it but then the Warning Light came on and I panicked, Then the car just stopped dead just before the busy roundabout. I was panicing and was holding up traffic, I was so worried.
I managed to phone the RAC to find me but I didn't know how long they'd be. Luckily I got the car to start again and got it onto a quiet road before it died again. Then the RAC came and towed me home. I was so angry! Apparently it was the 'Crank Angle Sensor' which is common in Corsa's? Anyway it got sent to the garage and was gone for 10 days.
That happened about 6 weeks ago and i've had the car back now and got no problems, except for two oil leaks which I need to get sorted, but I just thought i'd share my story. I can't believe that first the Head Gasket went, then the Battery and then the Crank angle Sensor.
I WON'T be buying a car from there again! lol..

Unlucky - at least its done under warrenty - you should see the engine I'm working on at the moment, it will make your problems seem small

Yeah. when i got my corsa i had a few problems. the garage said they'd only cover mechanical problems and only up to £100. i was explained tha i had 3 months warranty - not any small print shite. i threatened them with trading standars, and a letter to the bit to the local paper (about shit companies) and they sorted everything out, without charge.
Your the customer, remember you're always right and their reputation partly depends on your 'word of mouth'

Same part, but if you don't know what your doing, then you did the right thing getting the pro's to do it. A new engine is more than £350
